!AddressI component
The !AddressI application manages the resources owned by an individual.
It follows the same user guidelines as the !Address0 application which are:
- It supports while inserting new data or modifying existing data the drop of icons orginating from the !AddressB application;
- Its preference setting window is identical to the one used in the !Address0 application: duplicate definitions are given below:
- An exact duplicate is a data set for which a row already exist in the database based on the comparison upon the ID identity, URL kind and designation and type of use (eg provate or business);
- A partial duplicate only involves comparison on the two former attributes given above;
- An additional action button (labelled "Activate") is now part of the window: being active as a Wimp task named "AcornURI" is alive, its use is to dispatch the displayed and valid URL according to the "Acorn URI handler" protocol. As the !AddressI application starts, it attempt to RMRun the URI module if not already loaded thus making the Activate button active (was default greyed);
- You can drop a file icon from your desktop onto the URL icon.
- If its filetype is URI (&F91) or ANT anchor (&B28;), then this file is scanned and the URL inside is displayed by the icon;
- Else this file is assumed to be the resource itself and the icon content is refreshed accordingly.
- You can also copy items below via the popup menu as the window displays valid data:
- Full mention;
- Identity only;
- URL only (eg "mailto:bgilon@free.fr");
- HTML tag (eg "<A HREF="mailto:bgilon@free.fr">Benoit GILON</A>")
